Publication Ethics
International Journal of Pedagogical Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies (i-Plural) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal adheres to the Core Practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure the integrity, credibility, and transparency of the scholarly publishing process.
1. Authorship and Contributorship
i-Plural requires that all individuals listed as authors have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the work.
All authors must agree to the final version of the manuscript and accept responsibility for its content.
Any changes to authorship (addition, removal, or rearrangement) must be approved by all authors and the editor. The journal will address authorship disputes promptly and fairly, guided by COPE’s recommendations.
2. Complaints and Appeals
i-Plural provides a transparent and fair mechanism for handling complaints against the editorial board, staff, or publisher.
Complaints must be submitted in writing to the editorial office (admin@i-plural.org).
The editorial team will assess complaints objectively and aim to resolve them in a timely and impartial manner. Authors may appeal editorial decisions if they believe their manuscript was unfairly evaluated.
3. Allegations of Misconduct
The journal has a clear policy for handling allegations of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, and duplicate publication.
Allegations may be raised by reviewers, readers, or whistleblowers.
All allegations will be investigated according to COPE guidelines, with confidentiality and fairness.
If misconduct is confirmed, corrective actions (retraction, correction, expression of concern) or referral to institutions will be taken as appropriate.
4. Conflicts of Interest/Competing Interests
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could affect their work.
The journal manages disclosed conflicts to ensure they do not compromise the review or publication process.
Conflict of interest statements will be published with the article when relevant.
5. Data and Reproducibility
i-Plural encourages authors to make available the underlying data whenever possible to promote transparency and reproducibility.
Authors should clearly describe data collection and analysis.
The journal supports the use of standard reporting guidelines.
For human subject research, authors must supply evidence of ethical approval and informed consent.
6. Ethical Oversight
The journal maintains oversight for ethical aspects, including:
Research involving human participants or animals.
Informed consent from participants, especially vulnerable populations.
Protection of confidential data and personal privacy.
Ethical business practices, avoiding misconduct in marketing or publishing.
7. Intellectual Property
i-Plural respects authors’ intellectual property, mandates originality of submissions and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. Every submission is checked using plagiarism detection software, and manuscripts with significant similarity will be rejected or retracted. The acceptable similarity index is below 20%, excluding references and properly cited quotations. Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their work.
Authors grant the journal a license to publish while retaining copyright.
Publications are under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license, enabling non-commercial distribution and adaptation with attribution.
8. Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections
The journal facilitates scholarly dialogue post-publication.
Letters to the editor or moderated online forums may host discussion.
If errors or ethical concerns arise, corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be issued as appropriate.
9. Archiving Policy
To ensure long-term access, i-Plural collaborates with digital archiving services (PKP or institutional repositories).
Published articles are permanently archived and remain accessible, even if the journal ceases operations.
